The Top Foodie Events of London Food Month

Naked Dough, London

June – the greatest month of the year in my opinion, and not just because the sun finally makes an appearance. June is London Food Month! An excuse to forget about all forms of exercise for 30 days and instead spend your evenings sampling the best of London’s incredible culinary scene. Check out my favourite events of this month long festival (click bold for links)…

Some of London’s best food (and drinks) trucks park up inside Westfield Shepherds Bush for a long weekend of tasty food and live demonstrations.

For one day only, Carnaby’s restaurants, cafes and bars are bringing their best dishes and drinks to the streets, offering sampling plates and special offers. There will also be live music and entertainment to keep the festivities in full swing.

Okay, I do know wine doesn’t count as food (even though it’s made from grapes *ahem*), but the festival does include brunches, snacks and pairings so I thought it deserved to join the list. Any excuse to talk about wine! London Wine Week see’s some of the capital’s best wine bars open their doors for special tastings, as well as many other events including a pop-up vineyard in Devonshire Square.

  • Tues 6th – Cookie Dough Cafe ‘Naked Dough‘ Launch

London’s first raw cookie dough dessert bar opens its doors in Old Street. It’s like when you were younger (or last week) when you’d drastically underbake cookie dough mixture, shovel on some ice-cream and demolish the entire lot in one serving (no just me!?), except this one is far less likely to give you salmonella.

BiteMeBurgerCo are opening a Pick’n’Mix style mini-burger joint in Holborn, and to celebrate they’re offering 50% off all burgers, shakes and bottomless fries for 10 whole days!

The first annual London Food Month Night Market comes to Perks Field in Kensington. As well as plenty of food stalls and themed bars, there will be masterclasses, live music, DJs and an open air cinema. Stalls include my favourite London burger joint Patty&Bun.

Eat Me Drink Me’s Sunday food market in Ealing is celebrating London Food Month with a rather cheesy day of festivities! London’s top cheese traders will line the streets for the coveted Cheese Cup. For just £7 you will receive a Cheese Cup tasting card which allows you to taste all of the competition entries, as well as a drink of your choice.

5 days of food, drink and live entertainment in Regents Park at one of London’s most famous annual foodie events! Sample some of the capitals best dishes, join in with the live interactive demonstrations by famous chefs then sit back with a drink at one of the many bars and lounges and enjoy a summers evening in true British style.

Sip prosecco and ice your own biscuits in what is arguably one of the most Instagrammed cafes in all of London.

Chinatown London is hosting an all-day event to get Londoners, and tourists, to view Chinatown through the eyes of a local. Food photographer and online influencer Kar-Shing Tong will be taking guided culinary tours through the area, delving into the history of Chinatown, fighting common misconceptions and encouraging guests to sample both popular dishes and more local delicacies. Tickets cost just £10.

The Food Truck Festival, which started the month at Westfield Shepherds Bush, is heading East for the end of the month.

And finally…
