The Top London Pop-Up’s of Winter 2017

WOODY BEAR, OXFORD STREET

From 1st November, a new rooftop venue has popped up on Oxford Street. Accessed by a hidden door on the corner of Marble Arch and designed to look like an abandoned urban playgroup, Woody Bear offers the ultimate festive experience for cheese lovers. The food menu consists of a range of signature grilled cheese sandwiches supplied by croque-monsieur specialists Madame & Monsieur, as well as everyone’s favourite Swiss dish, Raclette! The cheese can then be washed down with boozy eggnog, Negronis and Hot Gin Punch poured from a coin-operated drinks machine.

WINTERLAND, FULHAM

In the same location that this summer hosted Fulham’s very own beach club ‘Neverland London‘ comes the festive world of ‘Winterland’. Launching on Thursday 9th November, guests will be able to eat and drink within an enchanted forest, curl up on fur-lined sofas or book out a cosy winter lodge. Winterland will also have a wintery adult-playground featuring four curling lanes, mini-golf, table tennis, beer pong and the newly popular prosecco pong.

THE PRINCE AT WEST BROMPTON

The team behind the summer hot-spots Pergola on the Roof have decided to step up their game and take over an entire street this winter! The pop-up, which opens on 15th November will take over the former Prince of Wales pub, as well as 4 disused buildings. The street will feature 2 bars, 4 restaurants, 800 seats and a cosy woodland pergola garden. The restaurants include Peckham’s favourite Thai restaurant The Begging Bowl, Vietnamese barbecue restaurant MAM, Chelsea’s own Rabbit and, my favourite burger in London, Patty & Bun.

Set inside of the magical world of Winterville is Backyard Cinema’s Winter Night Garden. BACKYARD CINEMA’S SNOW KINGDOM, BOROUGH

What’s better than one wintery cinema experience? Why two of course! If secret wardrobes and enchanted forests aren’t your things, Backyard Cinema has a second offering for you. At their Snow Kingdom in Borough, you will travel through secret ice caves and across a frozen lake to reach an enchanted fairy-tale castle for another one of Backyard Cinema’s amazing and unique cinema experiences.

THE IGLOOS AT COPPA CLUB, TOWER HILL

The iconic igloos which started a new London craze are back in their second year at Coppa Club Tower Hill. Enjoy dinner or drinks (or both) inside fur-lined igloos overlooking the Thames and Tower Bridge. The igloos have been redesigned and look like an upgrade from last year. Pre-booked slots are fully booked, however, a couple of igloos are kept back for walk-ins so it’s definitely worth popping by and trying your luck.

Check out my experience in the igloos last year here.
